WhaMCo Recycling Center is a twenty-four hour residential drop-off facility
that keeps approximately nine hundred tons of refuse out of the local landfill
annually.
The recycling center collects plastic #1 and #2, cardboard, paper (No dark
construction, not tissue or Kleenex), newspaper, magazines, brown glass
containers, steel cans, aluminum cans, and used oil (No filters).
The center is manned from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m Mondays, Tuesdays,
Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and closed on Wednesdays. Call and schedule

- Buy high quality goods that are durable, repairable, and reusable
- Reuse plastic containers for food storage, scoops, and water devices. Use
glass jars to help organize nails, tacks, etc.
- Reuse wrapping paper, plastic bags, boxes and lumber.
- Donate used appliance to a local charity or a nearby vocational school so
students can practice repairing them.
- Offer old furniture to friends, or repair, repaint, reupholster, or slipcover.
- Cut towels and old sheets into small pieces and use for cleaning and dust
clothes
- Use old tires in the garden or play yard
- Send books and magazines to public libraries and nursing homes.
